This impressive vintage pendant from Taxco, Mexico, showcases the "Metales Casados" or "married metals" technique, a hallmark of the Taxco school of silversmiths, especially popularized in the mid-20th century. The piece is a masterful work of mixed-metal inlay, featuring deep blue azurite, vibrant green malachite, warm copper, and brass. One side of the pendant depicts a striking pre-Columbian eagle head, a symbol of power and celestial connection in ancient Mesoamerican cultures. The reverse side features a stylized "ancient astronaut" figure, a motif that gained popularity in the mid-20th century.
