This jumper carries its history right on the sleeve. The red and gold shoulder patch is the World War II era U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces insignia, worn by sailors who completed specialized training or served on landing craft and related vessels. Below it is a Petty Officer First Class rating badge for a Hospital Corpsman: three red chevrons topped by a red cross beneath the spread eagle.
