VTG 1960s Hi-Jac Corp PART COASTERS for Drinking Glasses 8pc Terri-Knit Elastic

For your consideration is this vintage set of 8 cylindrical terri-Knit coasters produced by Hi-Jac Corporation of Chattanooga, Tennessee. According to newspapers, this company moved its headquarters from Fort Payne Alabama to Chattanooga in 1958. Newspaper advertisements mention these, but without a product photo, beginning in 1960 and ending in 1963. Seller believes this package dates to that period of time. Each of the coasters are elastic and washable, and each are decorated with five colored stripes. Each coaster has a different color of stripes, making it easy to ascertain which drink belongs to which person. These are open on both ends and has elastic at both. Surprisingly, these still have a good stretch to them and the elastic has not dry-rotted. They measure without being stretched 4 inches x 2.3 inches and are best suited for Tom Collins type cocktail glasses. They come in their original flat package.
