The Castaways Miami Beach opened in 1952. The cocktail lounge in the Castaways, Wreck Bar, was the place to be in the 1950s and 1960s, attracting several celebrity guests, including The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Lenny Bruce. Wreck Bar hosted budding entertainers such as Ike and Tina Turner and Conway Twitty. The hotel closed its doors in 1979, but for those who frequented this hotspot, its charm and legacy will not be forgotten.
