A new casting design by Dmitriy Shakhmatov for 2023, this Supra is said to be based on the the original casting design made for Hot Wheels by Larry Wood from 1983.
The 2nd generation 1:1 Supra debuted to North American in 1977, as "The Car of the '80s" in their US ads. The Toyota Celica Supra was a new spinoff version of the Toyota Celica and was made from 1982 to 1986. The Supra still appeared similar to the Celica, but now featured a longer wheelbase and a different front fascia.
This new HWs casting version is a heavily modified model that features a single exposed pop-up headlamp "wink", a lowered stance, wider bolt-on fenders, hood vents, louvered rear and side windows, a small ducktail spoiler and front and rear diffusers and lips (?).
Comparing it to the older casting - this new casting's body lines are slightly wider even without the wide body kit.
It was also issued as a Super Treasure Hunt casting with this debut release.
