Description:
Original 1870s carte de visite photograph featuring a seated woman in period dress, photographed by L. H. Mandeville of Washington Street, Valparaiso, Indiana. The subject wears a high-neck patterned dress with fitted bodice, consistent with post–Civil War fashion of the early to mid 1870s.
Albumen photograph on standard CDV mount with photographer’s imprint on the reverse. Back shows light pencil notation and a faint handwritten name, left untouched for historical integrity. No modern alterations or restoration.
