Singer 1852 not from the year 1852! This one was made in the late 80s mostly metal construction it does have a plastic gear and a rubber belt at the bottom but it has seen so little use it just almost as good as a new one. Reverse is not working properly you have to walk it backwards. If that's an issue please don't buy. The with and stich length works as it should. Very quiet machine. Please Geegle or youtoove the Merrit line of sewing machines. I don't know much about the maintenance. This was bought from someone that had a collections of sewing machines and is making room for more desired models. It didn't get used for a while. I did clean it up and inspected before testing it. And it still needs oiling but I don't have the oil or the manual. That's why the price is negotiable. I won't give it away either. I just have a 237 singer that is my favorite and don't need this one. Preffer local sale but will box and ship if you pay for the shipping. I have been as transparent as I can...
