Vintage MARX Tin Lithograph Wind-up Boat Tail Indy Racing Car with Key

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in this Vintage Marx Tin Lithograph Wind-up Racing Car. It measures approx 16 inches long and has its original key. The original spring mechanism is still there. I tried winding the key a little and the spring does work and the wheels do turn the way they should, however I didn't wind it up all the way. I will leave it up to the new owner how he/she wants to run it or just use as display only. There is a small dent and some loss of paint just behind the driver's cockpit (see 9th photo) to be accurate. The underneath does have some surface rust. The wheels wobble, and the front axle is about 1/2 inch longer than it should be. Don't know if its a manufacturing error or if someone replaced it but the axle looks original. It doesn't have the original driver. A great item for your toy collection.
