This is a Corona 3. Based on the serial number, it was made in 1919 - so it’s more than a century old. By 1919, the Corona 3 was one of the best selling typewriters in the world, and the company produced tens of thousands that year. They’re fascinating and had a profound influence on the way that people thought about typewriters.
HISTORY: "The Corona Three was a portable typewriter manufactured by the Corona Typewriter Company, later part of the Smith-Corona Typewriter Company.
As many of the early typewriters were huge beasts, small, portable typewriters were being attempted by a few companies. Fox created a folding typewriter (which Corona later sued out of business), as well as Hammond. Parts of the Blickensderfer folded.
