JAPANESE CAST IRON HOBNAIL TETSUBIN (teapot), long preferred for use in traditional tea ceremonies, are prized for their ability to accept and retain heat, keeping the tea within hot while steeping and between pourings. This one has a beautiful form and ancient hobnail design (hobnail refers to the surface pattern) and the inside is glazed. An easily removable stainless steel infuser sits under the lid and is set aside when not in use. The teapot is about 6.3" from handle to the tip of the spout, about 4" high, and weighs 2 lbs. 9 ounces. Capacity is about 22 ounces. When not in use it functions as an elegant and attractive art object appropriately displayed on a shelf, in its own special nook, or in your display cabinet.
