Dry Creek turquoise is a rare, valuable stone from Nevada known for its unique creamy, pastel blue or bluish-white color with a distinctive golden to brown matrix, discovered by the Shoshone tribe in the early 1990s. Unlike many other light turquoises, it's naturally very hard, polishes beautifully without treatment, and its unusual pale shade comes from low concentrations of copper and aluminum in its formation. It's sometimes called "Sacred Buffalo" and this quality material is scarce today due to mine closures and disputes, making it highly sought after .
