Original Vintage 1958 “Houseboat” Cary Grant Sophia Loren Movie Poster Inser

Vintage original 1958 movie poster insert (14”x36”) for “Houseboat” starring  Cary Grant & Sophia Loren. The Paramount Pictures romantic comedy about a widower finding love while trying to raise 3 kids. The film was written on the basis of an original script by Cary Grant’s then-wife, Betsy Drake & Grant originally intended that she would star with him. After he began an affair with Loren while filming The Pride & the Passion, Grant arranged for Loren to take Drake's place with a rewritten script for which Drake did not receive credit. The affair ended in bitterness before filming ended, causing problems on the “Houseboat” set. Grant hoped to resume the relationship, but Loren agreed to marry Carlo Ponti instead.

This unrestored poster is in wonderful condition with very good color and a clean overall appearance. It has general and minor signs of use, such as very slight edge & corner wear, and light creases. This poster was never machine folded which is rare for inserts pre-1970.
