Stunning and rare vintage piece by American designer Karen Okada (New York), known for her bold, avant-garde silhouettes in the 1980s–early 1990s.
• Fabric: Luxurious silk-rayon blend velvet (deep black with a subtle sheen)
• Design: Dramatic cocoon/swing shape with exaggerated dolman/batwing sleeves, huge shawl collar that can be worn up or folded down, open front (no closures), and a sculptural, architectural silhouette that drapes beautifully
• Label: KAREN OKADA NEW YORK (early embroidered logo version) + “Made in U.S.A.” flag tag
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition – no stains, holes, or noticeable wear. Velvet pile is rich and intact.
