This is a U.S. military surplus item.
A Mark 2 life vest from the 1962 fiscal year.
It was used from after World War II through the Vietnam War era.
This is an extremely rare collectible item that is rarely seen.
Although it is deadstock, there are tears and stains due to aging.

This item was acquired from a U.S. military surplus store, where it was displayed in the window for nearly 50 years.

In addition to its function as a life preserver, it has numerous pockets for storing survival kits such as signal flares, dye markers, shark repellent, and lights.

The pockets are printed with text indicating the purpose of the items (e.g., DYE MARKERS, SHARK CHASER, etc.).

Although there is overall fading and soiling due to aging, it is a valuable piece of historical equipment.
