A true piece of radio history. This is a Philco Model 625 wood cabinet “tombstone” radio, dating to the mid-1930s. The vertical cabinet form was a staple of living rooms during the early golden age of broadcast radio, designed to bring music, nightly news, and shortwave programming into the home with style.
This example still wears its classic wood cabinet with beautiful lines and period-correct presence. The dial face, grille, and hardware present well for its age.
