Presenting a vibrant Antique Italian micro mosaic picture frame with an oval opening. The frame is adorned with multi-colored glass tesserae (millefiori) forming floral and geometric patterns. The hundreds of tiny, hand-cut glass tiles are set by hand, and display three dimensionally.
The oval opening is 2 inches across and the frame is 4 x 5“. The back is marked : Italy.
The frame is missing a few tiles as seen in the photos. In antique condition, it maintains its value and collectibility as it is over 100 years old.
The gold guilt frame has an easel backing.
The frame includes an original antique photo of an elegant, social couple.
The inner piece of glass appears hand cut, and there are two minute chips that are not visible unless the glass removed from the frame.
