This is a vintage Japanese doll. It seams to be made from gofun, a white, powdery pigment made from finely crushed oyster or clam shells mixed with animal glue, giving them a smooth, matte, lifelike finish. It depicts a Japanese girl, maybe a geisha, wearing a red, gold, and white kimono, a gold hat, and carrying two buckets. The doll is on a black wooden stand and cannot be removed. The doll is around 6.75x3.75x2 inches. It is in good condition. The hair is messy and the glue is starting to fail (nothing is detached). Some of the gofun is starting to chip.
