Vintage Princess sewing basket produced in Algonquin, Illinois during the late 1940s–early 1950s. This classic mid-century sewing basket features a beautifully woven painted body in an aqua blue / soft mint color with original painted wood tapered peg legs in gold/brass tone color.
The basket retains its original cord handles, painted wood lid and base, and interior sewing compartment with intact thread spool pegs. The lid features an original floral decal, typical of Princess baskets from this period. Original Princess metal label remains attached. A rare, hard to find survivor of the time in this size, style and color!
A beautiful example of post-war American sewing and home craft design, perfect for collectors of mid-century modern decor, vintage sewing accessories, or retro home storage. In great vintage condition for age. Very minor paint wear on the wood/wicker. See photos. Weighs 2 lbs 9 oz. Measures 14” tall, 11.25” x 11.25”.
