Mountain Safety research. Pembarthy made 3 different axes. The well known Thunderbird, the Eagle, and the very Rare technical Sumner. I could not find another. I have included a picture of the MSR catalogue from 1974. Larry Pembarthy designed it at the request of Bill Sumner specifically for technical ice climbing. It has a different degree on the ice pick for better grip. 55* hook angle instead of 68* Airplane Grade all aluminum construction. Left in its original condition. There was textured grip tape applied to bottom shaft. No markings visible. Last picture is take
