Toyohara Kunichika Antique Japanese Woodblock Print Diptych Kabuki Actors Ukiyoe

A gorgeous original antique ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock diptych print by the prominent artist Toyohara Kunichika. The print depicts 14 different Kabuki actors huddled around what appears to be a sacred dragon in the center. The woodblock print dates to the late 19th century. There is the artist's insignia in the bottom right corner partially covered by the frame as well as continued Japanese calligraphy along the top margin. Overall dimensions of the frame are approximately 21'' x 16''. Dimensions of the image are approximately 18.75'' x 13.75''. There is small creasing throughout due to age and the original binding holes run down the center of the piece. Please refer to all images.
