Miguel O'Hara may be a genius, but he's not quick enough to keep from getting addicted to Rapture. So he experiments on himself, but the outcome isn't quite what he expected.
Spider-Man 2099 was created by David and Leonardi for the 2099 line, a futuristic re-imagining of his namesake. Miguel O'Hara, a brilliant Irish-Mexican geneticist living in Nueva York in the year 2099, attempts to re-create the abilities of the original Spider-Man in other people and later suffers a related accident that causes half of his DNA to be rewritten with a spider's genetic code.
He appears in the animated Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, voiced by Oscar Isaac in the post-credits scene. He will also appear in the sequel, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
