This listing is for a piece of gorgeous hand embroidered vintage cotton blend fabric made in Japan. The entire piece measures 36 x 102”. I am not sure about the intended use of this fabric, because its embroidery is symmetrically composed and located only on one half of the length (in a panel format). The pattern is quite beautiful, consisting of lovely modest floral motifs and areas of pulled “latticework”. The color combination of fresh pale green background and intense chartreuse embroidery is quite stunning.
The selvage identifies the manufacturer of this fabric (Kanebo, 5045) and its fiber content (65 % tetoron, 35% cotton). The overall condition of this lovely fabric is good vintage. Aside from the slight darkening on one of the folds (likely due to a lengthy storage without airing it out or contact with an unlined closet surfaces), there are no other flaws.
