A vintage Japanese wooden snack bowl (菓子器 Kashi-ki) made in the Sanuki Shikki lacquerware tradition from Kagawa, Japan. This type of bowl is traditionally used for serving wrapped sweets during tea time.
The smooth urushi-coated interior contrasts with the sides, where the wood’s natural texture is beautifully expressed. It works well as a candy bowl, for serving small snacks, or as a decorative organizer to store small everyday items such as car keys.
It pairs naturally with Japandi, wabi-sabi, zen, rustic, or minimalist interiors. Upgrade your tea time with Urushi lacquerware :)
