This ceramic seagull figurine was produced for the 1947 Utah Centennial marking 100 years since pioneer settlement in the Great Salt Lake Valley in 1847. This is a rare commemorative piece, but can also be a nice addition to any bird lover or seagull collector. The underside is etched 1847 1947 Utah and includes a vent hole, consistent with mid 20th century ceramic production made specifically for commemorative sale or distribution during the centennial period. The seagull is a significant Utah symbol associated with pioneer history, adding historical and regional importance beyond its decorative appeal. Measures approximately 3 inches tall with a 3 3/4 inch wingspan from side to side and 4 inch beak to tail. Condition is very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. There is age appropriate surface wear on the base consistent with handling and display over time. Clean and smoke free.
