Original pair of 1940 single-sheet, four-page advertising flyers mailed by the National Geographic Society to promote the classic Grosset & Dunlap editions of The Book of Birds (2-volume set, $5.00) and the revised The Book of Fishes ($3.50).
Beautiful full-color cover art by Major Allan Brooks (Birds) and Hashime Murayama (Fishes), with additional artwork on the back panels. Inside pages contain glowing reviews, book details, and intact original order forms (never used).
Very Good condition for 85-year-old mailers. A charming and uncommon matched set of Depression-era/WWII-era National Geographic ephemera.
