A promising keirin cyclist pauses in his life after a crash, and aims to return to the sport while recuperating at a rural hot spring inn. This is a superb human story depicting a man's way of life and the kindness of people.

[Synopsis]
Naotaro Oki (Kenichi Hagiwara), a keirin cyclist known as "Makuri no Naotaro," was a promising keirin cyclist, but suffered a fatal injury—a complex fracture of the knee—in a race crash.
Taka'o Takahashi (Tsutomu Yamazaki), Naotaro's senior and good mentor, suggests that Naotaro undergo hot spring therapy and training at the Nikage Inn, Taka'o's family home in Shimoyoshida.
Nikage Inn was managed by Taka'o's mother and his sister, Kiku (Ayumi Ishida). Naotaro gradually becomes captivated by the heartwarming life with Kiku, who is beautiful, hardworking, and has a mysterious atmosphere, and the boss of a street vendor who lives nearby and his companions.
