The 3rd generation Land Cruiser (FJ40 series) has made a name for Toyota's toughness and high reliability worldwide. The FJ40 series, which was sold in various countries from 1960 to 1984, is still beloved as a collector's car, representing Toyota's off-road vehicles and ultimately the entire Toyota brand. In tribute to the FJ40 series, the FJ Cruiser was released in the United States in 2006. Borrowing many chassis and mechanisms from Toyota's export pickup truck, the Tacoma, the modernized design based on the FJ40 series has become popular and a big hit. Due to the high demand for this vehicle in Japan, sales began at the end of 2010. The model that Hot Wheels depicted is the armed FJ Cruiser used by antagonist Dante's private army in the 10th installment of the "Wild Speed" series, "Fire Boost".
