Catalog of the exhibition of the same name by Terry Weifenbach.
This book includes the series "The May Sun," created during her long stay at the IZU PHOTO MUSEUM, and the "The Politics of Flowers" series, published in 2005.
The title "The May Sun" is derived from a poem by the American poet Wallace Stevens, in which the warm sunlight shining into a world shrouded in darkness is used as a metaphor for light shining on the memory of human sorrow and bringing new brilliance.
In the ever-changing natural scenery, along with the movement of wind and light, she finds scenes that are similar to Stevens's poetry.
