A special issue featuring Masaho Anotani, created by the dream team of the creative unit WORK, led by art director Theseus Chan, and Steidl, the "man who makes the most beautiful books in the world," Gerhard Steidl.
This issue is primarily composed of Masaho Anotani's complex and handmade-feeling collage-like drawings.
The concept of this issue is the challenge of "creating paper objects unlike anything seen before." The title "DEFORMED" focuses on the "shapes" and "structures" that transform during the production process, intending to depict the completion of a "distorted book."
The book's design reflects the securely taped box Anotani used to send his works, preserving the order of the folders and files sent, and reproducing the artist's original concept as closely as possible in the publication.
Masaho Anotani's illustrations have also been used by Comme des Garçons.
