Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Fashion and Surrealism" held at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York from October 30, 1987, to January 23, the following year.
This book is the Japanese edition published in 1991.

It discusses the inherently intertwined relationship between fashion and surrealism, using many photographs and illustrations. The complex relationship between surrealism and fashion design, fashion photography, fashion journalism, and window displays. The history of how it was carried on in the works of surrealist painters such as Man Ray, Salvador Dalí, Óscar Domínguez, Joseph Cornell, Max Ernst, and René Magritte, and in the works of designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld, as well as Rei Kawakubo, Castelbajac, Adele Latz, Christian Lacroix, Claude Montana, Issey Miyake, and younger generation designers like Marc Jacobs, J.P. Gaultier, Kristen Woodward, and Georgina Godley, is introduced with rich visuals.
