Vintage hand-painted glass tiger figurine made in Japan for the mid-century export market. This charming piece features bold black striping, expressive facial detailing, and classic postwar Japanese styling. Tigers are among the most sought-after animal forms from this era and display beautifully in MCM, curio, or vintage décor collections.

Unlike porcelain examples, this piece is glass, with hand-applied enamel paint over molded clear glass — a style commonly produced in Japan during the 1950s–early 1960s for Western gift shops and department stores. One is marked “JAPAN” on the base, confirming post-Occupied Japan production.

Length: 4". Depth: 2". Height: 2".

Hand-painted glass. Surface enamel decoration

JAPAN (stamped on underside on one of the figurines). Circa 1950s–early 1960s. Post-Occupied Japan export era

Very good vintage condition. Light base wear consistent with age. Minor paint wear typical of mid-century hand-painted glass. No chips, cracks, or repairs observed.
