Traditionally, a Chief was recognized by his grand eagle-feather headdress, where each feather represented a brave deed or accomplishment. Before a hunt or battle, the Chief would adorn his prize horse with these feathers, believing that transferring these symbols of power would strengthen the horse's spirit and bond them together. This figurine imagines the personal "spirit-horse" of such a great leader.
