Vintage Japanese Black Lacquerware Wood Jewelry Music Box with a hand-painted scene on top and a mirrored interior.This charming piece features intricate details including a landscape with Mount Fuji and traditional Japanese architecture. The inside reveals more hand-painted artistry and compartments for jewelry.
The box is in lovely condition with some signs of wear. There are minor scratches, paint chips, and markings. The painting is bright and colorful and there is a lovely crushed abolone trim around the top design.
The music apparatus needs maintenance as it works intermittently. With some ingenuity, I think it is easily fixable with some tinkering around.
The box measures just under 7" wide, 5" deep, and 4" tall.
