This COLLECTIBLE Hero Factory themed set was released in 2010. It features the toughest and strongest bot of the Alpha team, Dunkan Bulk. Bulk is the metal muscle of the Alpha team and is armed with a multi-functional heavy metal weapon, loaded with metal sphere ammo. Equipped with a removable hero core, high-tech air armor, and a helmet with a camera and communications headset. The set was retired in September 2011 with a lifespan of 14 months.
The Hero Factory is a crime-fighting organization that manufactures robotic heroes to fight and apprehend criminals across the galaxy and protect a similarly robotic populace. Rise of the Rookies - Team Alpha 1- the most successful and praised team, Team Leader Stormer and his team—Bulk, Stringer, and rookies Furno, Breez, and Surge—confront a series of villains orchestrated by the rogue hero Von Nebula. It emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and the challenges of transitioning from novice to experienced hero.
