This interchangeable lens for single-lens reflex cameras features the AF mechanism with
a standing wave ultrasonic motor
"PZD (Piezo Drive)"!

The driving principle is to apply a high-frequency voltage to a piezo (piezoelectric ceramic) element, causing it to expand and contract.
By causing the entire element to move in a standing wave motion,
it moves in a wriggling manner,
and the metal tip attached to the end of the element draws an elliptical motion,
and the friction with the rotor (the object to be rotated)
realizes the rotational motion of the motor!

Also, it is quieter than a DC motor,
