Genuine mid-century wool flannel jersey from Covington’s American Legion Post 291 team – tan road-style with navy felt “COVINGTON LEGION” across the front, “POST 291” on the sleeve, and big #1 on the back. Made by Weese & Pierce Sporting Goods out of Danville, Illinois (just across the state line), and tagged size 38 (fits like a modern medium).
I bought it at a Covington yard sale about 12 years ago, so this piece of Fountain County history has stayed right here in town its whole life… until now. It deserves a new home where it can be proudly displayed and enjoyed by someone who appreciates local baseball heritage. Excellent vintage condition with only light honest wear – no holes or major flaws. Ready for your collection or man cave!
