The Santo Niño de Atocha, or Holy Child of Atocha, is known as a miraculous image of the Jesus Christ Child, particularly as the patron saint for prisoners, travelers, the ill, and children, famous for 
bringing aid and performing miracles , often depicted as a pilgrim with a basket of bread, a water gourd, a staff, and worn sandals, symbolizing hope and protection, especially in Hispanic cultures.  Devotees leave shoes at his shrines for his journeys, and he is revered for helping those in unjust situations, like the wrongfully accused or imprisoned.
