Beautiful vintage Vizagapatam wooden box featuring a faux tortoise shell finish and carved and painted decorations. It resembles a little old trunk with carved reinforcement strap look tabs and lion paw feet. The top and each side carry pierced oxbone decorations with prettily hand painted floral centers. Inside is plain wood and its unmarked but I believe these were made in India.
-- 2 1/4" high x 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" including the little feet.
-- Nice condition but does have four of the little straps broken in the center as shown -- both sides are still present though. Otherwise just minor expected vintage wear.
Lovely antique box would make a great gift!
