Pair of WWII-era “Sterling Craft by Coro” gold tone sweetheart brooches featuring patriotic eagle motifs with red, white, and blue rhinestones and enamel accents. One brooch includes a dangling lucite photo locket, made to imitate pool of light lockets, that were popular during wartime as a sentimental keepsake. The locket has a realistic flower design around the center, and a soldier’s photos in it. The smaller eagle brooch in this set is identical in design to one held in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. These iconic designs were worn to show love, loyalty, and support for servicemen. The pieces are signed STERLING CRAFT BY Coro on the back. These patriotic brooches are a notable and collectible set of 1940s Coro Sterling Craft jewelry.
