Picasso: Maya Ruiz-Picasso, Daughter of Pablo

María de la Concepción, Pablo Picasso's eldest daughter, nicknamed Maya, was born on September 5, 1935. Picasso was completely captivated by his child and quickly made Maya his muse. This book, accompanying an exhibition at the Musée Picasso in Paris, explores his relationship with her through materials that detail Picasso's documentation of Maya's childhood. "Picasso's Daughter" includes reproductions of numerous drawings, paintings, and photographs of Maya by Picasso, as well as drawings created collaboratively by father and daughter.

Essays by Emilia Philippot, Diana Widmaier-Picasso, and Rafael Inglada consider Maya's childhood, which was marked by the constant war in Europe and had a significant impact on Picasso's personal life. The book also includes a conversation between Maya and her daughter, Diana Widmaier-Picasso, in which Maya reflects on her memories of her father.
