A large-format vintage handmade plaster relief plaque from Greece. This is a hand-painted repro of a Classical Period scene from a renowned Attic white-ground lekythos. The original vessel is attributed to the Achilles Painter and resides in the Staatliche Antikensammlungen in Munich.

The piece depicts a standing Kore and a seated Muse playing a lyre on Mount Helicon. It utilizes the white-ground technique, rendered in an objective palette of terracotta, ochre, and black. A classic Greek Key (Meander) motif frames the top. Features a heavy craquelure glaze to replicate the appearance of an authentic archaeological find. Reverse retains the original archival paper label "No. 819 Kore and Muse."

16" H x 16" W x 0.5" D
Heavyweight cast with an integrated metal triangular loop for wall mounting.

Good vintage condition. Exhibits small chips and material loss along the left and right vertical edges, exposing the white plaster body. Few minor chips to the front. Everything is pictured.
