Vtge Goebel Porzellan GmbH candy bowl, produced in Bad Staffelstein, West Germany, during the 1980s. For historical reference, a newspaper advertisement from The Californian, dated May 10, 1984, is included to document its availability in the U.S. market at that time.
This bowl is truly a showstopper and may have originally been sold with a carousel-style lid, which is no longer present. The interior features a smooth finish, while the exterior showcases a lightly stippled texture on the flat surfaces. Encircling the bowl are beautifully rendered frosted 3D carousel figures in a Victorian style. The “jumpers” include two elephants, two roosters, and two horses, while two swans serve as the only standing figures. Each animal is separated by a spiral column, with a detailed 3D scalloped motif below.
