The following is a description:
A wonderful new book featuring the 108 heroes of Suikoden.

This book project began in July 2013 when Greg Orie showed tattoo artist Kles the book that Amar Goucem had discovered the previous year during his trip to Japan. The book featured illustrations, believed to be by Uoya Hokkei (1780-1850), a Japanese painter and disciple of Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), introducing 78 of the 108 heroes of Suikoden. From there, the idea was born to have 30 tattoo artists represent the lost 30 heroes and complete this "collection." This editorial project celebrates the art of design and tattoo with 108 illustrations: 78 antique original drawings and 30 new original works realized by the greatest interpreters of contemporary tattoo art. Each illustration is accompanied by a complete explanation, the result of meticulous comparative research. The book fuses past Eastern art and contemporary interpretations through the images of the 108 good bandits, legendary characters known as the heroes of Suikoden.
By tattoo artists such as Filip Leu, Adam Kitamoto, Koji, Wido De Marval, Ichibay, Mick, and Horimatsu.
A must-have book for those interested in Japanese tattoo design!
