An old-school must-have!
This album was released in 1984 by Grandmaster Melle Mel And The Furious Five (Sugar Hill Records, US pressing, jacket made in Canada). Melle Mel (64 years old), a hip-hop legend with an incredibly muscular physique who has been active for many years and even collaborated with Lady Gaga in her early days in 2006, split from Grandmaster Flash due to financial issues.
It includes a remix of "White Lines," an old-school classic that deals with drug addiction and had a huge impact on the subsequent HIPHOP culture, including sampling and other copyright issues!
Side A1 is a cover of Lightnin' Rod (JALAL of LAST POETS), a rare groove track that incorporates phrases from the blaxploitation film "Willie Dynamite"!
The funky old-school beats of B1 and B4 are, of course, must-listens, but the mellow A3 and B3 are also fantastic!
Side A
1 Hustlers Convention
2 Yesterday
3 At The Party
4 White Lines (New Re-Mix)
5 We Don't Work For Free
Side B
1 The Truth
2 World War Ⅲ
3 Can't Keep Runnin Away
4 The New Adventures Of Grandmaster
Regarding the condition of the record, there is some surface noise, but it should be within an acceptable range for those accustomed to used records.
The packaging will be in recycled cardboard.
