1950s handmade chenille bedspread pink blue circles Size 82" x 101"

Amazing handmade chenille bedspread! This was hand tufted as you can see from the reverse side. So many hours and days of work! The chenille has been applied to a cream colored muslin fabric. It is dated on one corner as shown in pictures. Excellent condition. The only issue is some fading of the blue except near the edges where it is darker. It probably was not in the light in that area. It measures 82" x 101" and is shown on a full size bed. Sourced in western North Carolina.

Chenille technique began in the 1920s and was the rage until the 60s. It started being made by machines in the late 1950s. These handmade spreads are rare and this one is in especially good condition. This is a true American folk art piece.
