Carved wooden chess set featuring a decorative board and pieces. This item was made in the 1990s by an artist considered a Living National Treasure in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast of Russia. When purchased, about half of it was much darker, but I believe the color has faded over time. If you're handy, please feel free to add color.
I don't know anything about chess, so I don't know the meaning of the pieces and just arranged them randomly for the photos.
