This photo book features cherry blossoms taken in Yoshino, Nara Prefecture.
It is an ambitious work that attempts to capture "the act of viewing cherry blossoms" rather than just the "cherry blossoms" themselves.
Using a 4x5 inch film camera, the focus is intentionally shallow, and the shutter is released to eliminate the outlines of the cherry blossom branches and flowers, transforming them into photos that seem to melt together.
It is a photo book that offers a sense of immersion, as if you are enveloped in an endless blue sky and cherry blossoms.
It is a wonderful book that makes you feel like you are in a mountain of blooming cherry blossoms every time you open it.
