This Hopi sterling silver brooch/pin is a Kachina, a spiritual being in Pueblo cultures. He's fabulous, and the detail is awesome - a cherished addition to any collection of fine \Native American jewelry. It's signed. The pin is 2.75 in. tall and 1 in. wide.

The artist is Dean Siwingyumptewa (cloud symbol) active 1940s 1970s and the flute player is a shop mark: Kopavi International, located in Sedona AZ, established in 1976.

The Hopi are a Native American tribe known for their silversmithing, particularly the unique overlay jewelry they invented. It's a technique that involves a blackened, textured, silver base with detailed stamped pieces of silver placed over it.
