Hello, you're looking at a vintage tie clip made in the Morpho design of reverse glass painting. The artist paints a beach scene, usually with black paint and typically with palm trees, on the back of a glass cabochon. The glowing background is a real butterfly wing from the Morpho butterfly.
The silvertone finish of the tie bar complements the center design perfectly. The tie bar measures about 2 1/4inches, and the center is just under 3/4 of an inch.
Condition-wise, the metal has minor tarnish and scuffing, but the center is still in great shape.
