"Abduction of a Sabine Woman” Sculpture - Giambologna's Famous Mannerist Masterpiece

The original large marble sculpture was completed between 1579 and 1583 and is located in the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence, Italy.

It depicts a moment from Roman legend where Romans, who had a shortage of women, abducted Sabine women during a festival.

The sculpture is renowned for its dynamic composition, known as a "figura serpentinata," which encourages viewers to walk around the piece to appreciate it from all angles.

It features three intertwined figures: a Roman man lifting a woman, with another man crouched below.

Excellent condition.
